The Great Debate Project Far Surpasses
Routine Practice for Writing the Persuasive Essay!
Following the step-by-step directions in the 43-page Great Debate Project student guidebook, each student will:
write a short but powerful persuasive paper on a contemporary, controversial subject. The research involved has authenticity, relevancy and a real purpose
use technology to facilitate every aspect of the project, from research to process writing, to publication
participate in a debate with a debating partner that is evaluated by classmates and the teacher.
Students are motivated to do their best to win the debate.
